2022 President's Message

Bobbi Kay Nelson, 2022 President

The theme for 2022 is “Back to Basics”!

When I joined CREW New Mexico in 2010, there were two significant benefits that encouraged me to become more active in the organization. The first benefit was the quality of CREW New Mexico’s broad range of resources found in presentations and events that were consistently engaging with meaningful information for my business needs. The second benefit, was the collaborative networking environment that allowed me to meet so many wonderful professional contacts.

Our meetings in 2022 will include time to share stories about “CREW Connections.”  A “CREW Connection” can be meeting a CREW member for coffee to learn more about the member’s specific job and business philosophy, a business-to-business referral, participating in a real estate deal with another member, or engaging with each other to support and grow as professionals.

CREW New Mexico will celebrate its 15-year anniversary in 2022! Our Chapter plans to mark this momentous occasion at our general membership meeting in October. Alyssa Dangler, President-Elect of CREW Network, will be our featured speaker. This event will be the prelude to CREW New Mexico hosting the CREW Network Winter Leadership Summit on January 26th-27th in 2023.

These are just two of the phenomenal events CREW New Mexico members can look forward to in the coming year. In addition, our fabulous Events Committee will be offering some amazing hard hat tours in 2022 at two of the biggest projects developed in New Mexico over the last few years:  Amazon and Facebook.

Our Mentoring Program continues to shine as the premier resource for commercial real estate professionals wanting to grow and enhance their careers by engaging with seasoned professionals. Our UCREW and CREW Careers program is starting to take off by connecting our members with students at Albuquerque Public Schools, the University of New Mexico’s Anderson School of Management, and Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). Moreover, CREW New Mexico’s Outreach program has consistently provided opportunities for our members to give back to our community.

At the end of 2021, CREW New Mexico’s membership surpassed the 100-member mark! Looking back over the past 15 years, CREW New Mexico can be proud of its accomplishments. For me, I am proud to serve an organization where you feel connected and know that there are a hundred + people whom you can call on to help you. While we are a hundred strong in New Mexico, we are 12,000 strong across the globe. This is the power of CREW New Mexico and CREW Network!

CREW New Mexico has a lot to look forward to during 2022!  I look forward to getting to know each of you and make a CREW Connection!
